Capturing a moment with a simple photo is an important element too, so encourage everyone to capture a photo to bring their story to life.
The logo
A shared story creates conversation and strengthens community, so a speech bubble was the perfect icon to build the logo around. The speech bubble icon is hand illustrated to add a human touch, with a nod to the rich heritage of illustration in story. The typeface, colours and spacing were refined to be easily read and understood.

Calderdale is a place of breathtaking natural beauty and rich heritage. So what better than a colour palette that reflects that beauty and history.
The people of Calderdale are very proud of the place, its history and the miles of raw beauty. The colour palette was chosen to represent its unique valleys, hills, woodlands, mills, farms, market towns and wildlife.

Fonts
People responded well to Rockwell, a slab serif that is used in books but also looks contemporary and digitally friendly. The handwritten typeface Canvas Script is used to represent the personal, human part of sharing stories.
